MTI fighters were in Christchurch on Saturday and it was a great show. James won by KO in the third round and had his third win of the month. Ian had a great battle before loosing on points to Johnny Kennedy former NZ Karate and TKD champ. Look out for the rematch!
What a show! All the fighters fought strong and proud. MTI had a great night with 7 wins from 9 fights. Tom Sheppard, Ian Charlton, James OConner and Jordan Wehrman all won by KO.
James Ford and Phil lost but had great fights and showed that they will be fighters to watch out in the future for. Nick Wilson and Devon won on points and really showed some slick skills.

What a weekend, Phil fought in Whakatane and had a close points loss in what was fight of the night. Dean debuted at pro Boxing and had a great battle losing on points – not bad for taking the fight on 10 days notice! And Meenal won the IKBF NZ title in Whakatane. Roll on Capital Punishment!
And on the 3rd Tom Sheppard fought in Whangarei winning a rematch with Josh Tai – giving him four 8 counts along the way.
Big night on Saturday, MTI had three fighters at the Muay Thai Eruption show in Porirua. Meenal fought a hard fight and was unlucky not a get the decision.
Jared defended his NZ title in a great battle with Doug Higgins before losing on points. Now its one a peice and the rubber match will be a great one! Joey fought Paiva in fight of the night – full Thai rules and it was a war. Joey came out on top winning by way of TKO in round 3.
Despite taking the fight at late notice Rua ‘Damage’ Druce fought on the FSN fight night in Christchurch on the 13th of March and won his first fight with Blake on points before winning a hard fought battle against Nick Taylor in the final. The final fight went two extension rounds before Rua was crowned the winner.
The MTI fight team is gearing up for Capital Punishment 17 which is likely to be the biggest show yet – make sure you keep April 17 free.
The womens only class run by Vicki Maguire and Meenal Prasad is now in full swing.
And the MTI fight team will have a busy month, on the 13th Rua is fighting in a Fourman Thaiboxing fight in Christchurch and on the 20th Joey is fighting professionally against Paiva, Jared is looking to Defend his New Zealand T
Next up for the MTI fight team is the March 20 show in Porirua. This will be a massive night hosted by Mark Spencer and the Alpha crew, Joey Brincatt will be fighting Paiva in a Professional fight under Full Thai Rules, Jared Defending his NZ title and Meenal taking on Tamaku Paul. Then 4 weeks later on April 17 is Capital Punishment 17 which will be the biggest Capital Punishment EVER!
The Deadly Debut III fight night is taking shape with fighters from all over NZ and the main events are a North Island Thaiboxing title between Dean Karu (MTI) and David Cosgrove (TFS) and a 4 round match between James O’Conner (MTI) and Brendan Varty (Harleys Kickboxing). And full undercard.
What a great night of fights! Domain fought twice and performed well, Rachel had a good fight losing to Tamaku Paul, James had a hard fought thriller with Brendan before losing on points. And Dean won the North Island title in the second round.
